Ensign Yachts’ Ron Jacobs was on hand to show us what the Bavaria C38 has to offer. Ron’s a professional sailor with multiple titles and Sydney to Hobarts to his name. He was joined by renowned local journalist and sail industry commentator Lisa Ratcliffe for a look at all the features included in the latest yacht from Bavaria.
Modern, comfortable and supremely confident under sail, the Bavaria C38 was designed by Cossutti Yacht Design and manufactured in Germany. As the Ron explains, it incorporates a number of distinctive design features, such as a V-shaped bow and chines that run almost the entire length of the hull.
The Bavaria C38 features twin helm positions, with clear site lines to the chart plotter and instrument panel in the centre of the cockpit. They also offer an unobstructed view down the length of the boat and a clear view of the trim of the sails through a clear panel in the bimini.
Bavaria Yachts are renowned for the space and headroom they offer below deck. Lisa’s walkthrough of the saloon show the C38 to be no exception. As she explains, there are three cabins, each with double beds, plus galley, living and bathroom facilities of an exceptionally high standard.
