History of Riva:
In 1842, Pietro Riva founded the Riva shipyard on Lake Iseo in Sarnico, Italy. The family-owned shipyard began by building commercial boats. By 1920, Serafino Riva had steered the shipyard towards pleasure boats. Riva also built and campaigned race boats, winning many trophies in the 1920s and 1930s. After Carlo Riva introduced the iconic wooden Riva Aquarama sportboat 1950s, luxury yacht builder Riva became world-famous. In 1969, Riva began building in fibreglass, maintaining its yachts' elegant styling. The Ferretti Group acquired Riva in 2000, giving the shipyard the infrastructure required to build larger yachts and superyachts.

Specialisations of Riva:
Elegant design in exterior and interior styling is luxury yacht builder Riva's hallmark. Riva's fibreglass power yachts are powerful, fast and high-tech.

RIVA 20 CORSARO:

Only 18 were built. Volare is No. 12.

MASSIMO & LELLA VIGNELLI - Flatware on the Riva Corsaro 20:

Massimo Vignelli (Italian pronunciation: ['massimo vi?'??lli]; January 10,1931 - May 27,2014) was an Italian designer who worked in a number of areas ranging from package design through houseware design and furniture design to public signage and showroom design. He was the co-founder of Vignelli Associates, with his wife, Lella. His ethos was, "If you can design one thing, you can design everything, " and this was reflected in the broad range of his work. Vignelli worked firmly within the Modernist tradition, and focused on simplicity through the use of basic geometric forms in all his work.
