Robert Clark 72’ Ketch
Robert Clark 72’ Ketch
Commissioned by the famous aviator and yachtsman of the same name, she was designed by the UK’s Robert Clark, and originally launched in 1974.
Lovingly restored over a five year period to be relaunched in 2011. Now with modern features and technology such as alloy spars, stainless steel rigging and electric winches, not to mention a luxury interior fit-out of American oak and leather whilst still maintaining the simplicity and classic lines and old world charm of the original vessel.
Three double cabins and three bathrooms for accommodating guests. A spacious air-conditioned saloon with seating for up to 10, together with a modern galley/kitchen featuring a huge standing Italian fridge, full size oven/ stove plus ice maker and dishwasher, allows formal dinner parties to the extreme. Deploy the flat screen TV, Foxtel and the BOSE surround sound system and the dinette is convertible into a movie pit for 8 adults to lounge in comfortably.
The cockpit seats 8, 4 on the princess seat and 2 more on deckchairs and you comfortably entertain 14 outside on the beautiful teak decks . Laze on the sun bed or while away hours reading on the bow.
Sir Thomas Sopwith is under commercial survey, and currently operates a successful day charter business on Sydney Harbour that can be continued by the new owners as a turnkey business.
She has been sailed to Fiji and back and countless journeys up to Hamilton Island so is a proven ocean going yacht, or you might just see yourself permanently cruising the Whitsundays...
